Shimon Bines, a distinguished entrepreneur and humanitarian, passed away on August 15, 2024, in Seminole, Florida, at the age of 87. Born on July 10, 1937, in Romania, he would go on to lead a life marked by compassion, tenacity, and a profound commitment to helping others.
Throughout his career, Shimon showcased his entrepreneurial spirit by establishing and managing a variety of businesses. His character was defined not only by his professional achievements but also by his good sense of humor and his stubborn side that often spoke to his determination to assist those in need. A true humanitarian at heart, he notably donated medical equipment to aid the people of Romania, ensuring that it reached those who required it most.
Shimon proudly served in the Israeli Navy, an experience that shaped his values and sense of duty. His interests were varied; he had a passion for the stock market, good food, and the joy of shopping, which he embraced with enthusiasm throughout his life.
He is survived by his son, Jack Bines, and his wife, Pamela, of Seminole, Florida; his daughters, Andrea Waldman of Oldsmar, Florida, and Sara Berglund and her husband Paul of Seminole, Florida; and his cherished grandchildren, Jodi, Kaitlyn, Zac, Sophia, Danny, and Lexi. His family will forever remember Shimon for the love and laughter he shared, as well as the memories they created together.
Shimon was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mona, whose memory he held dear throughout his life.
A graveside service in honor of Shimon Bines will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Chapel Hill Memorial Park, 12905 Wild Acres Road in Largo, Florida. The service will begin at 10:00 AM, with Rabbi David Weizman officiating.
