Sheila Berner

Sheila Berner, a beloved sister and mother known for her great leadership and inspirational drive, has sadly passed away at the age of 88. Her gentle soul departed on July 23, 2024, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be treasured by those whose lives she touched.

Born on April 25, 1936, in Jersey City, New Jersey, Sheila's life was marked by her unwavering kindness, sweet nature, and a generous spirit that endeared her to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was a giver every sense of the word, always open-minded and gracious in her interactions with others. Sheila was known for being generous with her time, selflessly dedicating herself to helping those around her.

Outside of her professional accomplishments as an executive administrator, Sheila found joy in simple pleasures such as practicing yoga, dancing away to music, challenging herself with crossword puzzles, and engaging in heartwarming conversations while socializing with neighbors. Her vibrant personality shone through in every aspect of her life.

Sheila is survived by her three sons: Lester, Joel, and Evan; her daughters-in-law: Lisa (married to Lester), Elizabeth (married to Joel), and Laura (married to Evan); cherished grandchildren: Michael, Caitlin, Emily, Aidan and Jacob; and great grandchildren: Charleigh and Ezra.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Sheila's life will be held Sunday, July 28, 2024 at 10am. The burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Park, 12905 Wild Acres Road in Largo, Florida. Family and friends will gather to pay their respects and bid farewell to this remarkable woman who has left an indelible mark on their hearts.

Sheila Berner's presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace knowing that her memory will live on in the hearts of those who were touched by her love and generosity.

HER JOURNEY’S JUST BEGUN

Don’t think of her as gone away-

her journey’s just begun,

life holds so many facets -

this earth is only one.

Just think of her as resting

from the sorrows and the tears

in a place of warmth and comfort

where there are no days and years.

Think how she must be wishing

that we could know today

how nothing but our sadness

can really pass away.

And think of her as living

in the hearts of those she touched…

for nothing loved is ever lost -

and she was loved so much.
